insight for innovation

DISCOVER -> DEFINE -> DEVELOP

Aquifer Design builds its innovation methodology on design thinking. We understand that innovation starts with insight and discovery but isn’t complete until new value is created.

We help companies find and work together with teams of the the best and the brightest independent entrepreneurs, engineers, developers, and designers in the world to develop new products, move into new markets, improve service delivery, and ultimately create real financial value.

Our channel for collaboration with this crucial group of innovators is Not an MBA.

BPMA Presentation

Peter Drucker stated that the purpose of business is to create a customer and to innovate for that customer. We’re all pretty comfortable with the process of creating a customer. This is the realm of sales and market development. Innovation, on the other hand, is not as well defined or as well understood. The question at hand is, how do we innovate in a way that creates a preference on the part of the customer during the buying process?

Aquifer Design is talking to the Birmingham Product Management Association on August 27th, 2008 from 11:30am to 1pm.  The purpose of the talk is to show how consumer ethnography, a core component of design, plays an important, and not to be neglected role in the process of creating products and services that customers want to buy.

InnovationCamp is Now on the Calendar and on the Map

InnovationCamp is an ad hoc, unconference for people who want to learn about innovation by doing rather than by listening. It’s also a mashup intended to get the people necessary for ground-breaking innovation together in one place—executives, entrepreneurs, users, engineers, designers, managers, anthropologists, artists.

InnovationCamp now has a date (Saturday, June 28, 2008) and a place (GSD&M Idea City in Austin, TX). Austin’s a little warm in June, but it has a very accessible business and creative community—essential ingredients for a good first run.

Aquifer Design is a proud sponsor of InnovationCamp.  Come join the fun!
